HIV remains a significant public health concern in the United States, with approximately 1.2 million individuals aged 13 years and older living with the disease. The Southern region continues to experience a disproportionate burden, particularly in rural and underserved communities. Since access to infectious disease specialists in these regions is limited, primary care clinicians play a critical role in delivering ongoing HIV care. This on-demand activity—part of a two-part CME/CE series, Closing Gaps in HIV Treatment for Rural and Underserved Communities of the Southeast United States—is designed to equip clinicians with current clinical knowledge and practical strategies to improve HIV management and patient engagement in care. Expert faculty will also explore best practices for utilizing a multidisciplinary, team-based approach to optimize management, reduce stigma, and improve engagement in HIV treatment.
